One more thing...

I forgot to mention the awesome birthday gift I got from Mike and my Dad & Pam! I got a full set of golf clubs! Mike and I had gone to look for some ladies golf club sets but I wasn't very excited about them because they were either pink or purple (and I'm not a pink/purple type of gal). So, needless to say, I was really excited when I saw that my new set of clubs was NOT pink or purple! I love them and I can't wait to use them. I'll see if I can get Mike to snap a few action shots next time we're at the driving range so you can get a real picture.

Mike also got me a small sized cookie cake and he even got my name put on it! He's so sweet and thoughtful. On Monday night, Mike and I met my Dad and Pam for a birthday dinner at Carrabbas. It was a wonderful, low key 25th birthday...just the way I like it!

Ingredients for a Late Night Blog Post

Seriously!?!?!?! Izzie AND George? I don't know if I can continue to watch Grey's Anatomy if they BOTH die! And who really gets "married" with a post it note? If the last episode is really setting the tone for next season, I'm not so sure I'm looking forward to next season. Although, I'm sure I'll change my mind as soon as the previews for next season start to air.

On another note...I am blogging after my bedtime because I do NOT have to go to work tomorrow! Woo Hoo! Mike and I are headed down to FL tomorrow morning because we have a wedding to go to on Saturday. Friday night we're staying with family and then on Saturday Mike and I will mosey on over to my Mom's condo. I'm really looking forward to spending some time with my family, maybe getting a little bit of sun (hopefully the weather will be nice), and the wedding. We will be heading home on Monday and I'm hoping that I can fit in a hair appointment Monday afternoon before our meeting with our NFP.

Not only is this weekend going to be busy but the next MONTH is going to be non-stop.
  • Next weekend (May 24th) is Mauri's wedding (It'll be the first Jewish wedding I've ever been to and I can't wait to yell Mazal Tov!). Yes, I realize that the wedding is only a few hours on one day, but Saturday is booked with a bridal luncheon then the rehearsal and finally the rehearsal dinner. Sunday is the big day and we'll spend most of the day trying to keep Mauri's nerves under control and in between fetching glasses of wine we'll be getting hair and makeup done. Monday is golf...hopefully, if the weather is nice.
  • Then the following weekend (May 30th) is Bill & Myrna's wedding AND my bff Natalie is coming into town. I can't wait to see her and her cute pregnant belly!
  • The weekend after that (June 6) is Mike & Jess's wedding. I can't wait for that wedding either because we always have a great time with that gang. We always have such a good time that sometimes when its time to leave I wish I'd known them when I was in college. They're SO MUCH FUN! (***Shout out to Steph! Will we get to see you and Jack at the wedding? I'm dying to hold that precious new baby!) Sunday, June 7th we're having a family portrait day at my Dad's house.
  • June 13th will be the first free weekend we'll have.
  • And then June 18-20 is the Member Guest Tournament; and on Saturday night Pam and I will get roses because my Dad and Mike are going to WIN! Right guys???? ;-) On Sunday I'll be doing whatever Dad wants to do because it'll be Father's Day!

Whew! I'm already exhausted...if I don't have many updates between now and Father's Day, now you know why. If nothing else, I'll try my best to take lots of pictures and to have a few picture posts.

Bird Nest(s)

I came home from work today to hear a bunch of chirping coming from our little bird nest on the front porch. So, naturally, I went to see what all the commotion was about. There were two big birds teaching two little birds (still sitting in the nest) how to fly! How neat! I tried to get a few pictures but they didn't come out too good -- those birds were flying too fast!

As of this afternoon we officially have an empty nest on the front porch....covered in a wreath of bird poop (you can kinda see it in the picture above). GROSS! Yes, these little birds turn their little butts to poop outside of their nest AND POOPED ALL OVER MY FRONT PORCH! Sick! I'm hoping that the water hose gets most of it off the brick because I do not want to scrub bird poop.

AND...we found another bird nest in the Holly Bush next to our garage door. I went to check on it today and the Momma bird flew at me, so I ran away --- she's protective of her little eggs. Last time we checked on those eggs, there were 3. I've been trying to figure out what kind of birds have decided to nest all around our house...I'm pretty sure that the one in the Holly bush is a Robin. I don't mind little Robin...she's made her nest in a bush so I don't care if she poops there. :-)

Oh yeah, and I found the beginnings of one more nest --- so yes, three bird nests. The third was just a few pieces of pine straw and a few strands of grass (so far). I'm debating whether I should stick something up there to prevent the other half of our porch from being covered in bird poop in the a few weeks.

I like the eggs and I like watching the little ones learn how to fly...but I do NOT like the mess they leave.
I hope that everyone is having a great week!

At last --- an update!

So, it's been a while since I've updated my blog. To be honest, I haven't updated much because I'm trying to keep my blog as positive as I can. No need for everyone to hear me complain about things (especially since I have so much to be thankful for).

Since my last post so much has happened:

  • Mike and I went on a weekend trip to Asheville, NC to see Jeff Dunham. We didn't take very many pictures this time, so the picture below is from the last time we visited. It's such a beautiful town --- and it has GREAT food! I highly recommend eating at The Corner Kitchen (great breakfast), The Lobster Trap (awesome seafood), and Barley's (best pizza in Asheville). I'd love to live there someday.

  • We found a birds nest in the corner of our front porch. I climbed up to take a picture of the eggs. :)

  • We attending a fundraiser for my Mom's friend Donna (Donna suffered from a severe stroke a few months ago and is having to go through lots and lots of therapy. The fundraiser was to raise money to help with medical bills and also to continue with therapy that insurance won't cover. Please keep Donna in your prayers!)

  • I completed my Junior Achievement course. Almost all of the students were taller than me.

  • All of Mauri's bridesmaids hosted a lingerie shower --- which was so much fun (and a bit scandalous!) Ha!

The awesome cake that Stephanie made!

The Bride to be and Me

All the bridesmaids and Mauri

  • My brother turned 15! Whoot whoot!

  • One of my best friends, Sarah turned 26! We celebrated the night a The Cheesecake Factory! One of my favorites!

  • The Easter Bunny came to our house to drop off some Cadbury eggs for Mike.
  • We attended the Tea Party downtown on Tax Day. It was packed and we saw a couple of really funny signs.

And today I met up with my Mom and my sister. We treated ourselves to mani-pedi's. AND...I wore my new pink dress (see last post for a picture). So far it has been a great weekend.

Oh yeah - and my Dad sent me a message last night that said "GymDogs are National Champs again." How awesome is that? Five years in a row. Back to back to back to back to back champs. Unbelievable! I can't wait to see them next season!

Hooray for new things!

I hardly ever spend money on clothes for myself. It's something I always end up talking myself out of. With that being said, my Mom has bought probably 90% of all my work clothes...she has great taste! :) So...this weekend, I bought a bunch of weekend dresses! It's something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. Here are a few pictures....

I got a few new pairs of weekend flip flops to go with my new dresses! I actually got another pair but I will have to return them, because some fatty foot stretched out the left foot (I didn't try them on in the store) so the left shoe is too big. :(

I also got two new lamps for our bedroom! Goodbye Cobalt Hat! The Cobalt Hat was a gift my Mom gave to Mike for Christmas, except I stole it. It is a very nifty hat --- it has three settings for the lights on the bill. I used it when I was reading in bed so that I would not have to get out of bed to turn the ceiling fan light off. Ha!

Saturday Mike and I ran to Wal-Mart to get a few things for dinner (Mike's parents came up for a steak dinner -- so good!) and I bought some sunflowers. I thought they would look perfect on our coffee table. I love having fresh flowers in the house.

So, Mom, what do you think about all my new stuff?!?!?! :)
