New Furniture

So it's been a really really long time...and I've gotten multiple emails asking "When are you going to update your blog?" ha! I didn't know I had so many secret followers. :) Make a blogger profile and follow me and leave me comments so that I will have actual proof that yall exist!

And...we have news! (No, we're not pregnant...why does everyone always jump to that question when you say you have an announcement?)

We bought new living room furniture! Yippee! It hasn't been delivered yet but I'll be sure to take before and after pictures of the living room. Here is a sneak peek...

And we picked out the furniture for our Master Bedroom....

And we have narrowed it down to two different Dining Room sets. Which one do you like best?

THIS ONE?

OR THIS ONE?

I hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend. :)

Happy Birthday Chris!

I am a week late in posting these...but better late than never, right?

Last weekend I made a cake....

Here it is flipped over. I made a pineapple upside down cake...

We all sang Happy Birthday...

Here are a few more pictures from the birthday party...

The Birthday Boy!

Happy Birthday Chris!
***just pretend I posted this last Saturday. :)

What else?

In the past month we've experienced the following around the office:
  • Layoff's (although they are not calling them "layoffs" --- I think that's crap. I don't know many people who are fired but are still eligible for re-hire)
  • The parking garage collapsed
  • Countless robberies around the Georgia Tech campus
  • And today I look out the window to see a Police Helicopter at eye level with my floor hoovering outside our building. I'm thinking...great, what now. The SunTrust Bank that I frequent (and right across the street from our new/temporary parking garage) was robbed for the THIRD time in two months.

What else can go wrong in Midtown? :(

4th of July Recap

At 4:00 AM our alarm clock went off. Now, you may ask why on earth would anyone wake up at 4:00 AM on the 4th of July....we were on our way to meet up with these folks:

55,000 runners and thousands of supportive volunteers and onlookers all there to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the World's Largest 10K. It was a sea of people flooding down Peachtree Street.

We volunteered at the Start Line of the Peachtree Road Race and then prayed to God that I could make it down the 6.2 mile course to the Finish Line at Piedmont Park. This was my 5th year doing the Peachtree Road Race and this year was also my slowest year. Now, I won't embarrass myself by publishing my time, but if you're dying to know you can look it up at the Atlanta Track Club's website.

Here we are with posing proudly with our trophy t-shirts.

Yes, I know I look like crap. Don't judge me. We stopped by Waffle House on our way home to use our "I got my t-shirt, now give me a free waffle" coupons for finishing the race. At this point I was still smiling...later in the day...notsomuch. After a day of hobbling around like a 90 year old lady, I'm back to my old self. Thank God.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We definitely did!
