Random Songs on Important Dates

I randomly came across this fun thingy today. You can check here to see what songs were number 1 on your most important days.

Just for kicks I looked up the following:
  • My birthday - Hello by Lionel Richie
  • My high school graduation - Foolish by Ashanti
  • My college graduation - SOS by Rihanna
  • The day we got engaged - Crank That by Soulja Boy
  • The day we got married - Whatever You Like by T.I

Hmm...I'm pretty sure I should have been born a few years earlier...I'm not a HUGE fan of all these songs.

Now - your turn! :)

Today at work...

The Atlanta Police re-directed traffic....

And there were firetrucks, police cars, ambulance's, and three GA search and rescue teams...

And all the news stations showed up (complete with helicopters)...

A few floors in our parking garage collapsed! :(

My car is on floor 5.

I have no idea when we will be able to get our cars out; or if we will be able to get them out at all. :( I hope so. I am so grateful that I was not in that parking deck when it collapsed. A few of my co-workers are pretty sure that their cars have been destroyed; and it makes me just sick for them. Keep in mind that this all went down right around lunch time; so it's a miracle that there are no injuries. I do believe there were some Angel's hangin around 5th and Spring!

Since my car is stuck in this parking garage until further notice, I will be working from home for the rest of the week.

Best Husband Award

I'm leaving work at 7:00 tonight and when I call Mike I ask him to please start dinner. I told him that the chicken was in the fridge. Usually, when Mike makes dinner that means "Mike grill something", which I'm always fine with. I was happy with Grilled Chicken. However, when I came home I could hear some sizzling coming from the kitchen and what has my husband made for dinner? Chicken Parmesan. Yum! I love having an Italian husband! :)

Field Day

Today was a great day at work! Maybe it's because it wasn't a typical work day. About once a quarter the finance community has a meeting and this time we had a "field day". It was great! It was like summer camp...no work, no lectures, no learning, no forecasts...just fun! We played corn hole, kick ball, tug of war, had water balloon toss/relay's, and finally a dunk tank. It was so much fun. I wish everyday could be like today.

This past weekend was The Georgia Club's Member Guest Golf Tournament so we spent the weekend in Athens. On Friday I meet Pam for lunch at Taqueria del Sol where we shared some cheese dip and I had yummy fish tacos. After lunch I headed over to Hobby Lobby and on the way there I saw lots of smoke from the Georgia Theatre fire. :(

Saturday night was the fancy dinner...

And then Sunday I spent the day with my Dad....

Do we look alike? :)

I hope everyone is having a good week!

Well Hello there Mr. Cuervo

This morning I got up and ran a 5K....yes I know, I have not been training. But....every year I run (if you can call it that) the Peachtree Road Race on July 4th and I thought it would be a good idea for my body to get a preview to what's coming. I felt I needed to get my running shoes acquainted with the pavement again and get my heart rate up (so that I don't have a heart attack when I face cardiac hill). Well, this morning was the first time I had ran in probably 6 months and my body is fully aware of that.

After the race, I stopped by Chic-fil-A to pick up breakfast. Mike and I had a picnic on the driveway and then we immediately started doing yard work. We dug up a few bushes and moved them to the side of the house. We didn't get inside until 5pm.

Needless to say, I am beat. Mike and I hit up one of our favorite Mexican restaurants and split fajitas and a pitcher of margarita's. I'm so happy that I can't feel my legs right now. I probably won't be able to walk tomorrow.

Change of Pace

The office has been quiet lately this week and I have been taking full advantage of it! I have left work on time for the past three days in a row....I can't remember the last time I left work on time three days in a row. None the less, I am enjoying it. :)

Mike and I have been trying to decide where we want to go for our anniversary. We were either planning on going to Hawaii or maybe California to visit Napa Valley. BUT, I think we've decided to do something different. We have decided to stop planning and we're going to make a spontaneous decision. Maybe a week before we'll look for some last minute deals and then book last minute or we might just show up at the AirTran counter and ask "What flights are leaving today?" We'll just pack a little bit of everything and hope it's what we need for our destination unknown anniversary. Who knows we might be headed....

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Semi-Annual Sale & One Giant Snake

I made my semi-annual trip to Bath and Body Works today....their Semi-Annual Sale is going on and guess who stocked up on all kinds of good stuff?

It looks like a lot...and it is. But don't worry, this will last me for the rest of the year (and probably longer). At the last semi-annual sale I was told that one of my favorite scents had retired...but I found a couple of body washes today so I got them at 75% off! What a deal!

Well, we are officially over with all the weddings. And I am so glad! Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be any happier to witness such happy days, but I am really looking forward to the next couple of weekends to just relax. Maybe we'll finally get around to doing some yard work.

After Mike & Jessica's wedding yesterday, we headed down to spend the rest of the day/night at a friend's lake house. We had a lot of fun just hanging out, going on a boat ride, and floating in the water. Well, earlier this afternoon Mike got a message that there was a huge snake on the back of the boat. Tommy sent us a picture and I do believe it is the biggest snake I have EVER seen. I am SO glad that I did not see this in real life because I probably would have freaked out (to say the least). I will probably never get in that lake ever again.

That snake is probably as long as I am, which means if he wanted to eat me, I'm sure he'd try. It gives me the heeby jeebies just thinking about that snake.
