One Year Down....

Dear Mike,

Well, we made it through one whole year being married. We've experienced all the holidays and birthdays, traveled away for weekend trips and overseas, bought big purchases, and gained weight. I think we've covered it all...and we've continued to be blissfully happy. I'm probably one of the luckiest girls in the world to have a husband that is so giving, loving and caring. They say that the first year of marriage is the roughest....but I gotta say; if this was the hardest year....Babe, we've got this thing in the bag! ;) Thanks for a wonderful first year of marriage; and as I always say, I love you too much. Looking forward to the many, many more years to come.

Love,
Michelle

Bad Hair Cut

I had a great idea to get my hair cut for our vacation. Well, let me tell you about this great idea.

I guess I should start out by saying that I have been going to the same hair dresser for 11 years, so she knows what I like. Well, she made a 'oops' last night.

Here's a before picture:

Here is the after picture (please excuse the drama):

I cried all the way home. I've never HATED a hair cut so much before in my whole entire life. Please do not to tell me how bad it is to my face because I will probably burst into tears all over again.

I tried to put it in a pony tail to hide the horribleness; but some of my hair falls down. I never knew a pony tail could look so awful.

Mike, being the sweet husband that he is, says it's 'not that bad' and that he actually likes it. HA! This is me saying "Really, you think?" I don't believe him. Can you still see the tears?

This is what my hair looks like today...and it will probably look like this until all the lion layers grow out. The bobby pin = my new best friend.

I guess at the end of the day, it's just hair. It will grow. Everyday people lose their hair and I will do what I can with mine because it could always be worse, right? In the mean time, I will continue to "Roar" at Mike when I reference how much I hate my new hair cut.

First Day

I am the new kid. It is a 'small' company (to me). There are only 22 people in the office. I have a cube. Everyone does their own thing. It's very laid back. We get free cokes and parking is free!My commute is about 40 minutes. We have an office outing to play Whirlyball this week --- which I am really excited about. I really like my new job, but...I really miss my friends.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow! :)

Time for bed.

Say a little prayer for me.....

because tomorrow I start my new J-O-B!

Eeeeeekkkk! I'm so excited I don't think I will sleep a wink tonight.

Before and After

I could have sworn that I had taken before pictures...but I can't find them. So this will just have to do. The before furniture has been moved to our 'office' but since the 'office' was housing rubbermaid bins I decided to fill it with some furniture. Here is what we had in our living room before:

And here is what our living room looks like now:

Eventually we want to have bookshelves built in and a flat screen tv over the fireplace...but that will all come in time. So far we have really enjoyed our new furniture. :)

Dear Dad,

I find myself wondering
Did I give you your due
For all that you've done for me
Did I ever thank you?

For all of my childhood memories
For helping me deal with life's stresses
For helping me accept my defeats
And celebrate my successes?

Or for teaching me the value of hard work,
Good judgement, courage, and being true
The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we've shared
Did I ever thank you?

If I have forgotten,
I'm thanking you now
You taught me right from wrong

I hope you know how much you're loved and appreciated
I hope you, instinctively, knew it all along.

Happy Birthday, Dad. I love you!

I'd be willing to bet that I only have 1 person left who reads this blog...

I haven't updated my blog in a while, but...I'll go into the details sometime this week. I promise. I have lots of things to catch up on....like posting those before and after pictures of our living room, anniversary trip, bachelorette party, and maybe a job update. ;)

Stay tuned lonely blog reader....
